Description

Description: This Broadhurst Theatre playbill for The Petrified Forest, “Beginning Monday Evening, June 24, 1935,” is signed twice by Leslie Howard (on the front wraps and the title page). This was a significant production given that the villain, Duke Mantee, was played by a little known actor… Humphrey Bogart. Bogart was later cast in the film version of the play which helped to launch Bogart as “star” material.

Condition: Rear wrap considerably damaged from rough removal from scrapbook, glue residue at lower left of front wrap. Generally good condition with two strong Leslie Howard autographs.
