It is signed, dated and titled in graphite on the lower margin: “R. Duguay 1935 Aurore Boréale”. It is also initialed in the plate at the lower right. Image is 7″ x 8″ on an 8 1/4″ x 9″ sheet which is tipped to a larger, stiffer paper. Item #PR00516
Rodolphe Duguay (1891-1973), a Canadian painter, engraver and illustrator, is most widely known for his wood engraving skills. His works are in the collections of numerous prominent art institutions, e.g., National Gallery of Canada, National Library and Archive of Quebec, National Museum of Fine Arts of Quebec.
