Description: American journalist and poet Edgar A. Guest (1881-1959) penned and signed this friendly letter to an admirer. The letter reads: “My dear Mr. Harriman[?] I have heard through friends of mine here of your interest in me & my work and before I leave for Pointe Aux Barques, Mich., for the Summer I just want you to know how greatly I appreciate it. If there’s anything of mine which would make you happy to possess I wish you would let me know of it. Sincerely Yours Edgar A. Guest”.
Edgar Guest was dubbed “The People’s Poet” for the optimistic and inspirational nature of his poems.
Written on an 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of blue “Edgar A. Guest Detroit Free Press” imprinted stationery. Item #A01712
Condition: Mailing fold lines, mounting remnants on verso. Generally very good condition with a large, bold signature.
