Descriptions: In 1916 Brandeis became the first Jewish U.S. Supreme Court Justice. This autograph letter signed is illustrative of his worldview… he states in part: “I hope the boys will become good citizens and good Zionists.”

It is written on a 7″ x 4 1/2″ sheet of stationery imprinted: “Supreme Court of the United States Washington, D.C.” Original transmittal envelope included. Item #A01328

Louis Dembitz Brandeis (1856-1941) served as associate justice on the Supreme Court from 1916 to 1939. He wrote significant opinions supporting the freedom of speech and right to privacy. He also was a driving force in the American Zionist Movement.

Condition: Fold lines, light soil, generally good condition (envelope torn and stained).
