Description: We offer a print by the French artist Edouard Benedictus, image size is 14 3/8″ x 11″ on 18 5/8″ x 14 5/8″ heavy wove ivory paper. Three Art Deco motifs in silvery cool tones on a deep goldenrod background. At the bottom of the image it is inscribed ‘Benedictus “Relais” -12’. Bold and graphic from a distance, with wonderful saturation and a bespoke, handmade quality when viewed closely. Item #PR00118.

Edouard Benedictus (1878 -1930) was a painter, writer, composer, chemist and inventor. As as designer he was known for his floral Art Deco textiles patterns, he is widely remembered as the inventor of bullet proof glass.

Condition: Top corners have minor dents, there is a small 1/8″ dent in the image of the largest motif and a small scratch in the margin of the bottom left motif. On verso there is a black circle of ink, not visible on recto, good condition.
