Description: In this October 23, 1924 autograph letter signed, Kollwitz writes in German to a Mr. Buchwald: “I apologize. The misunderstanding was completely on my side. To explain in detail would take too long. Anyway I have immediately dispatched the print as registered printed matter, I do hope it reaches you in time. Yours faithfully Käthe Kollwitz”.

Written on a postcard postmarked Berlin and addressed in Kollwitz’s hand to Herr Buchwald in Dresden.

Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945), German painter, printmaker and sculptor, devoted much of her artistic output focused on a vision of women and the working class.

3 1/2″ x 6″ attractively matted in linen with an image of one of her self-portraits (facsimile signature on image) and in a gilded frame to: 11 1/2″ x 17 1/2″. Item #A01304
