Description: Hugh L. Scott (1853-1934) had a distinguished career serving with the 7th Cavalry during the Indian Wars and later serving as Superintendent of West Point and Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army.

This 1919 letter is written on Camp Dix imprinted stationery, where he was commander of the 78th Division.

Written to General Amasa J. Parker, he thanks him for "sympathetic words". Apparently Scott’s son was wounded in World War I.
