Description: At the behest of Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, Lansing writes to the diplomatic corps in Spain, France, England, Italy, and Egypt to provide courtesies to Mr. Elias Wolf Lewin-Epstein.

This typed letter signed is dated April 2, 1918 and is written on a 10 1/2″ x 8″ sheet of Dept. of State stationery. Lewin-Epstein held a leadership position in the Committee for General Zionist Affairs, as did Brandeis. Item #A01405

Robert Lansing (1864-1928) served as U.S. Secretary of State under President Woodrow Wilson from 1915 to 1920.
