Description: In this Dec. 27, 1915 typed letter signed Brandeis writes to Rehabia Lewin-Epstein urging him to contact his father and Dr. [Stephen] Wise. In six months from the date of this letter Brandeis was confirmed as a U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

Letter is written on an 11″ x 8 1/2″ sheet of stationery imprinted: “Provisional Executive Committee for General Zionist Affairs”. Brandeis is listed on the letterhead as “Chairman”; Dr. Stephen S. Wise is Vice-Chairman; E. W. Lewin-Epstein [father of the recipient?] is Treasurer. Item #A01418

Louis Dembitz Brandeis (1856-1941) was associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court from 1916 to 1939. Throughout this latter part of his life he was extremely involved with the American Zionist movement.

Condition: Two punch holes for filing in the left margin, several staple holes upper left corner, mailing fold lines. Generally very good condition.
