Description: This bold image was created by Edouard Elzingre (1880-1966) to mark the 20th anniversary of the modern re-establishment of the ancient Olympic games. In 1914 members of the sixth Olympic Committee met in Paris to plan the forthcoming Olympic events. They used the occasion to hold a special ceremony at the Sorbonne where, twenty years earlier, the Olympic Committee was revived and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) created.
This lithographic poster was published by Atar of Geneve and measures: 40″ x 28 1/2″ and is framed to: 42″ x 30 1/2″. Item# PR00527
Condition: Poster is linen backed. There are several short creases which have been flattened by the linen backing. Colors are strong, does not seem to be inpainted. Has not been examined out of frame.
