Description: In this two page letter signed, Washington addresses a Mr. John Wallace of Boston soliciting money to defray the students’ share of tuition, books, travel, etc. Body of the letter is in a secretary’s hand, but it is signed “Booker T. Washington” as principal.

Written on an 11″ x 8 1/2″ sheet of “The Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute” imprinted stationery. Item #A01740

Condition: Mailing fold lines, as well as, striped discoloration due to the letter having been stored in one of those ubiquitous photo albums with non-slip lines. Generally good condition.
