Description: This charming 19th century oil on canvas features a couple out for a ride in their horse-pulled cart… their dog leads the way. It is signed and dated lower left “J. O’B Inman 1895”.

John O’Brien Inman (1828-1896) studied under his more famous father/artist… Henry Inman. The son was, however, a member of the National Academy of Design and his works can be found in the collections of numerous prestigious art institutions… Museum of the City of New York, National Museum of American Art (Washington, D.C.), New York Historical Society, etc.

Stretcher: 12″ x 21 1/2″ in a period 18″ x 28″ frame that has been painted over the original gilding. Item #FA00372

Condition: In need of a cleaning, otherwise very good.
