Description: In this curious autograph letter signed, Olmsted writes to a lawyer (L. (or Y.) R. Stone): “As you present the case (loading a small play-ground with a pond and the pond with a bridge) I entirely agree with you. I never did anything of the kind.” Signed in full: “Fredk Law Olmsted”.

Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903) famously designed many of the most notable parks across the United States, not the least of which are Central Park and Prospect Park in New York, and Riverside Park in Chicago.

Written on an 8″ x 5″ sheet of stationery from Brookline, Mass and dated May 15th, 1885. Item #A01340

Condition: Mailing fold lines with a bit of offsetting from folding while the ink was still wet, otherwise very good condition.
