Description: A splendid & enormous albumen photograph of the Washington Bridge spanning the Harlem River.Clearly visible are Kyle’s Park and Grandview Park Hotel signs as well as the Steamboat Florence. Bridge construction began in 1886 and was finally opened to carriage and pedestrian traffic in 1889. This photo shows an almost completed structure. Image is 13″ x 28″ and is housed in a new archival mat and shrunk wrapped, not glued. Item #P00001
