Description: James Fenimore Cooper (1789-1851)  wrote out this part-printed check made payable to Mrs. Cooper for $15.. Cooper, a much beloved American author, wrote the Leatherstocking Tales, most notably: The Last of the Mohicans and The Pioneers. This 1844 check from the Otsego County Bank is signed “J. Fenimore Cooper” and is achivally matted with a 19th c. steel engraved portrait. Overall 16” x 12 1/4”. Item #A01263
