Description: As 28th President of the United States, Woodrow Wilson (1856-1924) served from 1913-1921. He passed a number of progressive pieces of legislation in his first term, and led the U.S. through World War I in his second term. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919 for his role in the creation of the League of Nations.
This is a hand-illuminated printed quotation which begins: "True friendship is of royal lineage." and ends with: "The object of love is to serve, not to win." Wilson has signed boldly beneath the quotation in brown ink. Measures 9 1/2" x 5 1/2".
The piece is no longer framed, but a dustcover from the original framing claims that this was the property of New York State Senator Julian B. Erway. Item #A00297
Condition: The ruled border has been trimmed, top and bottom, and there are a few small spots. Generally very good.
