|Description: Swedish poet and novelist Selma Ottilia Lovisa Lagerlöf (1858-1940) signed this 3 1/2" x 5" piece of thick laid paper.
In 1909 Lagerlöf was the first woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, and, in 1914, became the first female member of the Swedish Academy.
Edges of the paper are deckled. Signature is accompanied by a half-tone image of an aged Lagerlöf, the same image that was used for her 1959 commemorative postage stamp.
Condition: Tiny spots in the corners from bleedthrough of the mounting residue on verso, overall very good condition with a large, bold signature.
