Description: In this 1803 manuscript document, Schuyler has copied an 1802 note concerning a sixty pound debt and further writes that he has assumed the debt and promises to pay. Signed and dated: "Albany May 10th, 1803 Ph. Schuyler".
Schuyler (1733-1804) served as a general in the American Revolution and a U.S. Senator from New York (1789-1791 & again 1797-1798). He was Alexander Hamilton's father-in-law.
Written on a folio sheet of laid paper, with the entire document in his hand. Item #A00798.
Condition: Fold lines, a spot of ink on the lower blank margin, otherwise very good condition.
