Description: American artist Rembrandt Peale (1778-1860) neatly penned his signature at this affectionate closing of a letter to one of his children which has been trimmed to roughly 2 ½” x 3”.
Peale was the son of Charles Willson Peale, the noted American artist who established one of the first museums in the United States. Rembrandt Peale became known for his neo-classical style and his numerous portraits of George Washington, one of which hangs in the Oval Office.
