Description: We offer an original oil painting on board by Lucille Wallenford. The piece measures 16” x 20”, is signed at the lower left “L Wallenford,” and is in a period frame to: 21 ¾” x 25 ¾”. Water lightly churns around a cliff and a sailboat, all rendered with broad, saturated brushstrokes in this pleasantly loose, expressionistic East Coast seascape. Item #FA00165.

Lucille Wallenrod (1918–1998) was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Freeport, Long Island. She studied at various schools in New York City and Long Island including: The WPA Art Class (1939), Nassau Art League, American Artists School, and The Art Students League of New York. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and fabricated an arm brace to better hold a paintbrush. Despite her illness, Wallenrod executed hundreds of paintings and exhibited in New York City frequently.

Condition: Fine untouched condition with some minor wear to the frame.
