Description: We offer a charcoal drawing by artist Edward B. Stewart which is signed “EB Stewart” in charcoal at the lower right. Drawing is on cream laid paper with a sight size of 9 ⅛”x 9 ⅞” and is matted and framed to: 17 ¾” x 17 ¼”. Stewart expertly captures the late afternoon light streaming in on simple clapboard houses with a lone figure walking down the road. Item #FA00163. Edward B. Stewart (1865-1921) was an American artist based in Massachusetts. His work included landscapes, painting, etching and pen and ink. He studied at Harvard University (’87) where he was on staff at the Harvard Lampoon with William Randolph Hearst. (Stewart’s illustrations graced the pages occasionally.) He also exhibited at the Boston Art Club. Condition: Very good condition,though not examined out of frame.
