Description: Christmas 1973 was an extravagant year for Nelson Rockefeller's gift giving.
He had 3-dimensional bronzes cast depicting the city of Albany's coat of arms. A farmer and a Native American flank sheaves of wheat and a beaver felling a tree with the word "Assiduity" (persistant effort).
It is unclear how many of these were cast but this one has cast into the base: "T. N. H. [T. Norman Hurd, Budget Director] Christmas 1973 N.A.R. [Nelson A. Rockefeller]". We don't know the sculptor but there is an unclear signature which appears as: "Mb/11".
5" x 3" x 4" h (includes wooden base). Item #DA00160.
Condition: Fine condition.
