Eisenhower (1890-1969) was a five-star general of the U.S. Army during WWII where he supervised the successful invasion of France and Germany from the Western Front, and later served as the President of the United States from 1953 to 1961. His presidency is remembered for the focus on containing the spread of communism, the establishment of NASA, and the enactment of the Civil Rights Act of 1957. Eisenhower is consistently ranked as one of the greatest U.S. Presidents.
