Description: American artist William Edward Norton (1843-1916) boldly penned "Sincerely yours W. E. Norton" on this 3 5/8” x 4 ½” piece of cardstock.
Norton studied at the Lowell Institute in Boston and was a pupil of George Inness. He was known for his marine paintings which he exhibited at the Paris Salons, the Royal Academy in London, as well as expositions in Philadelphia, Chicago, and St. Louis. He was awarded the Osborne Prize for marine painting in 1905 and 1906.

Condition: Mounting remnants on verso, otherwise in very good condition with a large strong signature.
