Description: Admiral Kichisaburo Nomura (1877-1964) was the Japanese Ambassador to the United States at the time Pearl Harbor was attacked. Nomura worked diligently with United States Secretary of State Cordell Hull in an effort to prevent the outbreak of war between Japan and the U.S. and denied having known about the attack on Pearl Harbor beforehand. In his memoirs, Cordell Hull believed Nomura to be sincere in his efforts of preventing war.
Signed twice: “K. Nomura” and in Japanese characters, on a 9” x 5 ½” sheet of Japanese Embassy stationery. Item #A00681.
Condition: Fold lines, small spot of tape residue and light markings from paperclip at upper left corner, otherwise very good condition.
