|Description: We offer an uncommon tintype by the Tintype Studio at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. Presented in an elegant letterpress portfolio that measures 5” x 4”. The tintype was from an original photograph by Alexander Gardner in the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village collections. The original portrait was taken on November 15, 1863. Item #P00133.
Greenfield Village Tintype Studio opened in 1929. The Tintype Studio was operated by tintypist and Ford Motor Company employee Charles Tremear. He made tintype portraits of contemporary notable people such as Thomas Edison, Joe Louis and Walt Disney.
Condition: Fine untouched condition. The tintype is presented, as issued, under a small mat within a cardstock folder.
