Description: The internationally famous chef, Julia Child (1912-2004), typed and signed this warm and friendly letter to John Pitcherdale thanking him for the “lovely birthday greetings”, and tells him that she spent her birthday in “Maine with family and friends to celebrate.”
Julia Child is credited with making French cuisine accessible to the American public with her various cookbooks and her highly relatable television shows. She studied cooking at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and privately with Max Bugnard and other master chefs.
Typed on a “Julia Child Productions, Inc. WGBH-TV, Channel 2” imprinted post card that measures: 4” x 6”. Boston circular stamp dated September 2, 1997 on verso. Item #A00953.
Condition: A few smudges, not affecting signature, otherwise in very good condition with a neat, bold signature.
