|Description: We offer an original signed watercolor by Harold Wind of an industrial port. It is 9 ½” x 14 ⅛” matted in a silver frame (20 ½” 15 ¾”) and signed “WIND 5/39” at the lower right. Item # FA00158.
This is a unique industrial landscape made with a pleasantly loose approach to perspective. It belongs in the rare and often quirky category of "art made by engineers."
Harold Wind was a self-taught artist and illustrator who held several patents for disposable food containers as a packaging engineer. He was a recipient of a gold medal from National Art League in 1980, a Bronze medal from the Nassau County Museum Fine Art in 1985 and a member of the Salmagundi Club.
Condition: Toned at the margins, with some faint marks in the sky and scattered foxing, good condition overall.
