Description: French writer Romain Rolland (1866-1944) endorsed the back of this check which was payable to him for one dollar. The check is written by Rita (Mrs. Irving) Bodenheimer and drawn on the Central Hanover Bank and Trust Company and is dated February 3rd, 1937. Rolland signed it on the verso.
Romain Rolland won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1915 and is remembered as being a friend and influence on Sigmund Freud.
