Description: The 31st President of the United States, Herbert Hoover (1874-1964), signed this traditional White House card boldly in black ink. Hoover’s presidency is remembered for the beginning of the Great Depression, with the stock market crash occurring only eight months into his first year. He served one term, losing the presidency to Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the election of 1932.
Signed on a 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” card printed with the words: “THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON”. Includes original transmittal envelope addressed to Oliver B. Wait, Jr. of Philadelphia and date-stamped October 21, 1929. Item #A01058.
Condition: Light stain upper edge, otherwise very good condition.
