Description: We offer a whimsical group of finely executed pen and ink cartoon illustrations on heavy cardstock by a number of different artists (several drawings are signed). They are accompanied by a bound volume of eight issues of The Plumbers Trade Journal Gas Steam and Hot Water Fitters Review (first of each year 1907-1914, bound with stiff wraps) of this semi-monthly periodical published in New York City for the plumbing trade. Several of the illustrations are utilized in these particular printed issues. The journal is filled with illustrated ads, plumbing history and advancements, plumbing related fiction, whimsical escapades of plumbers (“Dooley’s Burlesques” by Marshall Cowing… a plumber), visual and literary plumbing puns, plumbing feats (e.g., schematics for plumbing Grand Central Station!)

Condition:The cartoons have light, scattered soil, some chipping to edges, overall in good condition. The bound volume has wear to the extremities and soil to the boards, the interior is in good condition.
