|Description: We offer an original, signed watercolor of an industrial harbor by Fanny Wallace Tewksbury. The composition is 11” x 19 ¾” and is signed and dated in the lower right. It is housed in a simple wooden frame with the outside dimensions 16 ¼” x 25 ¼”. Tewksbury shows the rapidly changing urban landscape of the Gilded Age with the same refined sensibility she gave her floral studies and more naturalistic scenes. Item #FA00335.
Fanny Wallace Tewksbury (1852-1934) was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She exhibited at the Palace of Fine Arts at the 1893 Worlds Colombian Exposition. She was a member of the Brooklyn Art Association, New York Watercolor Society, and the National Association of Woman Painters and Sculptors.
