Description: American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) shakily signed and dated this 3” x 4 ½” card: “Henry W. Longfellow Jan 31. 1882” about two months before his death.
Longfellow’s most famous works include Paul Revere’s Ride, The Song of Hiawatha, and Evangeline. He was the first American to translate Dante’s Divine Comedy, and was one of the New England Fireside Poets.
Condition: Mounting remnants on verso, otherwise fine condition with a large, bold signature.
