Description: French artist Maxime Lalanne (1827-1886), penned and signed this brief letter in which he thanks his correspondent for a card and lets her know that he will visit the next morning.
Lalanne made a name for himself with his skillful etchings and charcoal drawings. He was a founding member of Alfred Cadart’s Société des Aquaforistes and his work was published in numerous Cadart publications. His etchings earned him awards from the Salon in 1866, 1873 and 1874. In 1875, he was awarded the Legion of Honour.
