Description: In 1865 Agassiz (1807-1873) travelled to Brazil (returning home in August of 1866) to continue his research into Brazilian fish, a project begun in 1826 as a young man.
He notes in this two page letter to E. A. Wood, Esq. that he "shall have very little time to lecture this winter on account of the amount of work entailed upon me by my expedition to S. America".

Condition: Slightly toned at edges, spot of mounting residue on blank verso. Otherwise very good.
