|Description: We offer a mid-19th century cast iron copy press manufactured by R. Hoe and Company. The press stands at 17 ¾” tall, 13 ½” wide and 11 ⅜” deep. Impressively, it retains much of the original paint and gold pin striping and inscriptions: “R. Hoe and Co, Patent 1865, New York.” Item #DA00216.
R. Hoe & Company was a New York City based printing press manufacturer established by Peter Smith, Matthew Smith, and their brother-in-law, English emigrant Robert Hoe, in 1805 as Smith, Hoe & Company.
