Description: We offer an expertly executed portrait of a young girl done in watercolor on paper. Period ink on verso indicates the sitter as Elizabeth Stocker "Taken Aug. 31st 1830 Aged 21 years".
From the cinched waist up to her tightly curled locks, this young lady is a charmer. She has a slightly tilted head and a wide-eyed expression that seems to indicate a bit of mocking tolerance.
More than likely of English origin, she is housed in what appears to be the original frame with a brass cornucopia hanger fitting.
3" x 2 1/2" framed to: 5 1/8" x 4 5/8". Item #DA00144.
Condition: Minimal paint loss lower left sleeve, a few bumps to the frame, generally very good.
