Description: This 1803 part-printed document appoints John F. Losee to “Pay Master of the Regiment of Militia in the County of Dutchess” and is signed by New York Governor George Clinton.
 
George Clinton (1739-1812) was a Revolutionary War Brigadier General, delegate to the Continental Congress, Governor of New York from 1777 to 1795 and again from 1801 to 1804. He also served as Vice President under both Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.
 
10” x 15 ¾”. The document is also signed by the Secretary of State of New York, Thomas Tillotson (1750-1832). Item #A01150
 
Condition: Fold lines, small chip to upper right blank corner, ink smudge next to embossed seal. Generally very good condition with a large, bold signature.
